Fundraising meeting: Bell Arts 6pm 1/16/08

This is a call to all of the friends and supporters of Art City to an organizing meeting to be held at the Bell Arts Factory, 432 N. Ventura Avenue, Ventura, CA 93001 on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 6PM. The purpose of this meeting will be to organize a benefit event for Art City that will be held at the Bell Arts Factory in the early months of 2008. This meeting will be facilitated by Moses Mora.

Please forward this far and wide to those you know who may be interested in such an effort.

Art City is currently at an important stage of their existence as they address building code violations and their efforts to legalize the structures that are at this time out of compliance. A host of art organizations and patrons have already initiated efforts to help Art City in their quest, this is another step in the journey. Part and partial to understanding the history of art in Ventura is understanding the crucial role Art City has played as a spawning ground for many artists who contribute today to the health and wealth of Ventura's vibrant art scene.

Many artists who came into town in the past touched base with Art City first and then went on to many notable accomplishments. To use some baseball terminology here, we as an art community today may be past second headed for third, but Art City was first base. Please help.
